WEEK 2 — FROM SORENESS TO MOMENTUM
You Survived Week 1. Now Let’s Build the Momentum.
Last week was all about navigating the physical spark—taking your baseline assessments, stepping into your first workouts, and dealing with that unavoidable Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS). You made it through!
As that initial muscle soreness begins to fade, a brand-new challenge shows up in Week 2: Real life.
The initial novelty of starting a program starts to wear off. Busy workdays, family obligations, and normal schedules compete for your attention. If you rely purely on feeling motivated to work out this week, adherence starts to slip.
This week, we shift our focus from managing physical soreness to eliminating behavioral friction. We aren't looking for a perfect week—we're building a system you can repeat long after these 90 days are over.
The Week 2 Trap: Motivation vs. Systems
Motivation is great for getting you out of the gate in Week 1. But systems are what keep you going through Week 12.
When you have to decide every single day if you’re going to train, when you’re going to go, or what you’re going to wear, you suffer from decision fatigue. Every small obstacle becomes a reason to skip.
To keep your momentum going, we need to make showing up automatic.
Your 3-Step Friction Elimination Protocol
Here is how we remove the obstacles between you and your workouts this week:
Schedule Your Workouts Like Doctor Appointments
Don't leave your training to chance or wait until "free time" opens up. Open your calendar app today, choose your training slots, and treat them as non-negotiable appointments with yourself.
Remove Morning Friction the Night Before
Lay out your gym clothes, prep your water bottle, and pack your bag before you go to sleep. When your gear is ready, showing up requires zero thinking.
Defeat the "All-or-Nothing" Mindset
If life gets crazy and you don't have time for a full 60-minute session, don't skip the day entirely. A 15-minute modified workout or active walk keeps the momentum chain unbroken. A 50% effort workout beats a 0% missed workout every single time.
Your Focus This Week
Focus on these three simple non-negotiables:
[ ] Lock In Your Schedule: Block out your 3 training sessions in your calendar now.
[ ] Eliminate Evening/Morning Obstacles: Prep your gym bag and gear
1. Clothes
2. Water Bottle and
3. Post Workout Protein
the night before every workout day.
[ ] Apply the "Never Miss Twice" Rule: If life forces you to adjust a session, immediately reschedule it so you never miss two planned workouts in a row.
Week 2 Reflection Question
At the end of this week, ask yourself:
"What was the single biggest piece of friction that made following my workout schedule harder this week—and how can I remove it next week?"
Drop your answer in our group chat or share it with your coach during your Saturday check-in!
